What this site is

Childery is a free, public-good website that publishes daycare quality information drawn from state licensing databases, state quality rating systems, federal Head Start reporting, and other public sources. It is not a marketplace, referral service, or paid placement.

Accuracy and limitations

We work hard to keep the data accurate but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free. State data is refreshed on a per-source cadence (see each provider page's freshness stamp). If you spot something wrong, use the Contact link in the footer or the “Report a problem” affordance on each daycare page.

Quality scores, structural facts, and inspection summaries are informational. They do not substitute for visiting a provider, asking questions, and using your own judgment.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial research. Bulk scraping, redistribution of the site's data as your own product, or any use that puts undue load on the infrastructure is not permitted. If you have a legitimate research or journalism use case, reach out at contact@childery.com.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Childery is not liable for any damages arising out of your use of the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the operator's residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted on the corrections page.
