The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 The new employee listed on the Supplemental Sheet started on 9/19/25 and has not begun the 40 hour Introductory Training. Technical support was provided. 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel. Due Date 2/9/2026

The facility did not have electrical outlet covers or the outlet covers were not in place. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, I The afterschool classroom did not have outlet covers in the electrical outlets. Outlet covers were placed in all (six) open outlets during this inspection. Technical support provided. I. All accessible electrical outlets must be tamper-resistant electrical outlets that contain internal shutter mechanisms to prevent children from sticking objects into receptacles. The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C The CCP listed on the Supplemental Sheet started on 2/22/24 and has not completed the Literacy training. Technical support was provided. 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. One college level early literacy course (for credit or non-credit) if taken within the last five years.

The facility did not have 35 square feet of usable floor space per child for the number of children observed in care. The facility had a capacity of [23 in the preschool classroom] based on 35 square feet and [24] children were observed in care. CCF Handbook , Section 3.4.2, D One child was immediately taken out of the preschool classroom when LS informed them that they were over the room capacity and transferred to another classroom to prevent the classroom exceeding the room capacity in the future. The owner and director also agreed not to combine the two 3 y/o classes in their classroom at the same time anymore. In the future, one of the three y/o classes will go in the empty afterschool classroom or the multipurpose room when both classes need to be inside (to use the restroom or for inclement weather). Technical support was provided. 3.4.2 Indoor Square Footage/Usable Floor Space A. A child care that had a valid license on October 1, 1992 must have a minimum of 20 square feet of usable indoor floor space for each child. This provision is not affected by a change of ownership as long as the program remains continuously licensed at the original site. A child care facility that did not hold a valid license on October 1, 1992 and seeks approval to operate as a childcare facility must have a minimum of 35 square feet for each child. B. Usable indoor floor space refers to space available for indoor play, classroom, work area, or nap area. D. Each room routinely used as a classroom must provide the minimum 35 square footage of usable indoor floor space per child.
