Frequent practice of emergency procedures will facilitate a calm and competent reaction in response to an actual emergency, should it occur.

Both the driver and 2nd staff assured FSC that a visual sweep was completed, as the button to disarm the alarm is in the back of the bus. All children were marked as getting off the bus, on the Transporation Log. Technical support was provided. 2.5.2 Transportation Log A. A log must be maintained for all children being transported in a vehicle or on foot away from and/or to the premises of the child care facility. One toilet tank was open; the other toilet tank had a wooden board laying on it (not secured). Technical support was provided. I. Each toilet and sink must be maintained in good operating condition, cleaned and sanitized or disinfected as needed, but at least once per day. Sinks utilized for teeth brushing activities/procedures by the children must be sanitized prior to the activity occurring.

Child care personnel working at a facility currently providing transportation must complete training by April 1, 2020. New SR health & safety courses will be available January 1, 2024. All SR personnel who completed DCF training or Early Leaning FL (ELFL) health & safety modules must take these two new courses by June 30, 2024: • Safety in the School Readiness Program (5 hours) • Health & Nutrition in the School Readiness Program (4 hours) You can use these courses towards the annual in-service training requirement. A. The Student Health Examination shall be completed by a person given statutory authority to perform health examinations. B. The Student Health Examination or the signed statement is valid for two years from the date the physical was performed. An up-to-date version must be on file for as long as the child is enrolled at the facility. C. If the custodial parents or legal guardians fail to provide the documentation required above within 30 days of enrollment, the facility shall not allow the child to remain in the program.

The employer/owner/operator must conduct employment history checks, including documented attempts to contact each employer that employed the individual within the preceding five years, and documentation of the findings. Documentation must include the applicants job title and description of his/her regular duties, confirmation of employment dates, and level of job performance. The employer/owner/operator must make at least three attempts to obtain employment history information. Failed attempts to obtain employment history must be documented in the personnel file and include date, time, and the reason the information was not obtained.

This was resolved when the child was disenrolled from the facility by his mother. Outbreaks of foodborne illnesses have occurred in many settings, including child care facilities. G. If a special diet is required for a child by a physician, a copy of the physicians order, a copy of the diet, and a sample meal plan for the special diet must be maintained in the childs file and followed. If the custodial parent or legal guardian notifies the program of any known food allergies, written documentation must be maintained in the childs file for as long as the child is in care. Special food restrictions must be shared with child care personnel posted in an easily seen location that is not readily visible by parents or non-child care personnel and followed.
