- Food Preparation Area CCF Handbook, Section 3.924-17
Food containers were not stored above the floor on clean surfaces to protect from splash and other contamination. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.2, A Food and Nutrition [SR] Licensing Specialist observed boxes of food on the floor in the pantry area of the kitchen. Technical assistance was provided from the CCF Handbook: 3.9.2 Food Storage A. Food containers, such as cans, plastic containers, boxes and bags must be stored above the floor on clean surfaces protected from splash and other contamination. Corrective Action: Provider had staff unpack the boxes of food items and place on shelving. This brought this standard into compliance.

Bottles and/or sippy cups brought from home were not labeled with childs first and last name. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.5, B Food and Nutrition [SR] Licensing Specialist observed several bottles and sippy cups not labeled with the child's first and/or last name. Technical assistance was provided from the CCF Handbook: 3.9.5 Food Handling A. Bottles and sippy cups provided by the facility must be washed, rinsed, and sanitized between each use and do not have to be labeled. Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 35 B. Bottles and sippy cups brought from home shall be individually labeled with the childs first and last name and shall be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian daily. Corrective Action: Provider gave staff tape and sharpie pen to label child's bottles and sippy with first and last name. The standard was brought into compliance.
- Medication CCF Handbook, Section 6.540-01
A prescription or non-prescription medication, specifically [Amoxicillin ], was dispensed without written authorization from the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, A and K Health Requirements [SR] Licensing Specialist observed a bottle prescription amoxicillin in the infant classroom refrigerator. Teacher advised Licensing Specialist that child's mother gave her the prescription this morning at drop off. Teacher advised Licensing Specialist that she forgot to get authorization form completed, but that mom brought the same medication the day before. Technical assistance was provided from the CCF Handbook: 6.5 Medication Child care programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements: A. The child care program must have written authorization from the custodial parent or legal guardian to give prescription and non- prescription medications. This authorization must be dated and signed by the custodial parent or legal guardian and contain the childs name; the name of the medication to be given; and date, time and amount of the correct dosage to be given. Prescription and non- prescription medications that are used on an as needed basis require the parent/ legal guardian to provide additional documentation on the authorization form to describe symptoms that would require the medication to be given. The child care provider must never administer a medication that is prescribed for one child to another child. K.
