Why this rating

This daycare earned 4 out of 5 stars overall. Structural quality reflects a 50% violation rate, no complaints on record, and a license in good standing. The structural rating also includes California's licensing baseline — what every licensed daycare in the state must meet. California caps infant ratios at 1:4, toddler ratios at 1:6, and preschool ratios at 1:12. Lead teachers must hold a High School Diploma. Annual training isn't required by the state. No objective process measures (e.g., state quality rating or national accreditation) are available for this daycare. The overall rating reflects structural features only.

During the tour of the infant classroom, LPA observed an infant sleeping with a pacifier in their mouth in a rocker with the "vibration" on. The child was strapped in by the belt the rocker comes with. Staff stated the infant had just fallen asleep, but LPA was in there for at least 3-5 minutes where the infant was sleeping in the rocker before they were picked up and placed in a crib. This poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. POC Due Date: 07/11/2024
