The facility did not maintain documentation that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of each child were provided information detailing the causes, symptoms, and transmission of the influenza virus annually during the months of August through September in that [parent signatures were not obtained that they were provided the Influenza Virus Flyer/Info.]. CCF Handbook, Section 7.3, C.4. Record Keeping [SR] FSC reviewed six new children's records. Technical support was provided. 4. Annually, during the months of August and September, the child care facility must provide parents/guardians of children enrolled in the facility with information detailing the causes, symptoms, and transmission of the influenza virus. To assist providers, the Department developed a brochure, CF/PI 175-70, Influenza Virus, Guide to Parents, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(n), F.A.C. and may be obtained from the Departments website at www.myflfamilies.com/childcare.

The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C The staff listed on the Supplemental Sheet started working on 1/18/21 and has not completed the Literacy training. Technical support provided. 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. One college level early literacy course (for credit or non-credit) if taken within the last five years.
