Formula and/or food brought from home was not labeled with the childs first and last name. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.6, B Several packages of breast milk stored in the freezer did not have the child's name on them. Staff placed the child's name on all of them during this inspection. Technical support was provided. B. The provider must make sure all formula and food brought from home are labeled with the childs first and last name. The provider is responsible for the label; therefore, if the label is not completed by the parent, child care personnel must put the label on when the formula or food is received. C. Breastmilk or infant formula provided for a specific infant by a parent or guardian should not be fed to other children. In the event that the wrong breastmilk or formula is given to an infant in care, the provider must immediately inform the childs parent or legal guardian of the incident, as well as the parent or legal guardian of the infant that the formula or breastmilk was intended for. These incidents must be documented as an accident/incident.

Child care personnel did not comply with the facility's written disciplinary and expulsion policies. CCF Handbook, Section 2.8, B The staff's employment was immediately terminated once the Director was made aware of the incident. Technical support was provided. 2.8 Child Discipline A. The child care facility shall adopt a discipline policy consistent with Section 402.305(12), F.S., including standards that prohibit children from being subjected to discipline which is severe, humiliating, frightening, or associated with food, rest, or toileting. Spanking or any other form of physical punishment is prohibited. B. The child care facility operators, employees, and volunteers must comply with written disciplinary and expulsion policies.

The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C The staff listed on the Supplemental Sheet started working on 3/14/22 (over one year ago) and has not completed the Literacy training. Technical support provided. 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. One college level early literacy course (for credit or non-credit) if taken within the last five years.
