Supervision of children in the [5 year old bathroom] group was inadequate in that [child was playing in the sink water & toilet.]. CCF Handbook, Section 2.4 The teacher was in the classroom while the child was dropping things into the toilet and playing in the sink water. The child teacher was in the classroom when the aide walked in. The aid teacher stopped the child from playing in the toilet and sink, then the teacher came to the assistant. Facility is noncompliance with Florida Standards. Specialist give technical assistant on (General Supervision Requirements) A. Child care personnel must position themselves in the outdoor play area so that all children can be observed and directly supervised. B. Child care personnel must be assigned to provide direct supervision to a specific group of children and be with that group of children at all times. Children must never be left without child care personnel supervision inside or outside the facility, in a vehicle, or at a field trip location. C. Supervision standards apply at all times away from the child care facility, including during field trips, outdoor play, and when picking up or dropping off children at designated locations, such as bus stops, school, or a childs home. For school-age children, personnel must know where the children are and what they are doing at all times and capable of responding to emergencies including when children are separated from their group. D. At all times, lighting must allow child care personnel to see and supervise children while in care. E. The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Staff member listed on supplemental did not have documentation to show she started training within 90 days of hired. Staff member was hired on 10/25/2022. 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child are industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel.
